Power Line Hazards (PM)

Power Line Hazards Certification is a legal requirement for operators of boom trucks, mobile cranes and other similar equipment. Our Power Line Hazard PLH course covers basic knowledge about electricity, electrical hazards, and safety measures when working in proximity to transition lines above and underground.

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) (9 AM Start)

ATV Safety Training at METI prepares you to operate your All Terrain Vehicle safely.  ATV Safety Training is essential for anyone who uses these vehicles for work purposes, for recreation or who are young or new to the off-road experience.

  • The participant must be bring their own vehicle, as per the Nova Scotia Off Highway Vehicle Act.
  • Gloves, over the ankle boots, long pants and long sleeves, helmets with visor or goggles are also expected to be brought by the student.

Start Time is 9 AM

Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) (9 AM Start)

UTV Safety Training at METI prepares you to operate your Utility Task Vehicle safely.  UTV Safety Training is essential for anyone who uses these vehicles for work purposes, for recreation or who are young or new to the off-road experience.

  • The participant must be bring their own vehicle, as per the Nova Scotia Off Highway Vehicle Act.

METI’s Basic Personal Protective Equipment – PPE Training trains you to safely and effectively use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the task you will be performing.

Whether you are a new or young worker, an experienced person in industry or in supervision or management, PPE Training benefits you because it provides training in contemporary standards for the safe use, maintenance and storage of a variety of PPE.

Workers, managers, and supervisors working in an industrial setting, on construction or demolition sites, and in the forestry and mining industries, Health and safety committee members in these sectors can receive a practical introduction to the most common types of personal protective equipment (PPE) used to protect against common workplace hazards, by taking METI’s Basic Personal Protective Equipment – PPE Training.
