Crisis Intervention Training
METI’s Crisis Intervention Training is a one-day, interactive workshop geared toward anyone working in the social services.
Gain the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and manage crisis behaviours, and to safely defuse nervous or aggressive behaviour at the earliest possible time.
Crisis Intervention Training is designed for primary caregivers, educators, human service professions, or anyone who would serve to prevent, de-escalate, and safely respond to crisis behaviour.
Crises can occur “When a person faces an obstacle to important life goals that is, for a time, insurmountable through the utilization of their customary methods of problem solving”. (Caplan, 1961).
Crisis Intervention Training is designed to guide the crisis responder through the negative events, feelings of hopelessness, and unpredictable events that are exhibited by the person in crisis.
