Confined Space Training for Federally Regulated Industries is designed to acquaint you with precautions to take to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you, whether supervising entrance into a confined space, entering a confined space, or attending the confined space entrant within federally regulated industries in Canada.
After completion of Confined Space Training for Federally Regulated Industries, you will be able to adhere to Part XI of the COHSR in order to supervise, enter, and/or attend a confined space to perform work-related tasks.
Part XI of the COHSR prescribes occupational health and safety requirements to prevent accidents and injuries while working in confined spaces such as sewers, vaults and tunnels used by telecommunication companies to maintain their infrastructure; boilers, pipelines and tanks used to transport or store hazardous materials; storage tanks, tank cars and tank trucks used in the rail and shipping industries; and shipping holds. Although some of these spaces are easily recognized as confined spaces, others may not be.
