Occupational Health & Safety Act, OH&S (NS) Training
You will review relevant elements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act while discussing the standards that should be followed for creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS)
You will have this pre-entry requirement for many construction industry work sites.
Fall Protection (NS) Training
Train in the use of fall protection systems, including fall arrest and fall restraint. Learn to manage the risks of working at heights and assess and control hazards related to working at heights.
Workplace NL Newfoundland Fall Protection Training
Gain knowledge of fall protection codes and standards relevant to Newfoundland and Labrador’s
Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission, fall protection equipment usage and
theory of fall protection.
Working at Heights Ontario
This is the safety requirement for the province of Ontario for fall protection training. Train with
different types of fall protection systems and become aware of the most appropriate use for each.
Energy Safety Canada (ESC) Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Gain a general awareness of critical safety initiatives found at participating OSSA Member work sites.
You will be able to present the OSSA BSO credential to any of the Oil Sands Safety Association Owner Member sites (Albian Sands Energy Inc., Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Suncor Energy Inc., and Syncrude Canada Ltd.) as proof of completing the required pre-site access orientation.
Energy Safety Canada (ESC) Confined Space Entry & Monitor Training
Train in the hazards associated with entering and working in confined spaces and learn the methods of controlling the associated hazards.
Energy Safety Canada (ESC) Fall Protection Training
Learn the principles of fall prevention and protection, train with different types of fall protection systems, and become aware of the most appropriate use for each type in the Fall Protection standard for the Oil Sand Sites in Alberta.
Standard First Aid, Level C with CPR and AED Training
Become certified in St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid- Level C with CPR & AED
H2S Alive Energy Safety Canada (ESC)
This course aims to provide all who could be exposed to Hydrogen Sulfide Gas (H2S) the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and respond to H2S emergencies. Areas of study will include H2S Properties; Initial Response Strategy; Respiratory Protective Equipment; Detection of H2S; Rescue Techniques; Case Studies.
Understand the role a Scaffolder has in the construction industry; terminology, legislation, equipment handling, the stability of a scaffold and its support for various ground conditions. Learn to identify and build basic types and styles of platforms and the usage of these components.
Recognize and identify Frame Scaffold components and their usage, determine their compatibility of various Frame Scaffolds; learn to erect a frame scaffold structure and the safety regulations associated with them.
Tube & Coupler Scaffolds
Recognize and identify Tube & Coupler Scaffold components and their usage; have the knowledge required to erect a Tube & Clamp scaffold structure and the safety regulations associated with them.
Recognize and identify System Scaffold components and their usage, identify specialty usage of System Scaffolds the knowledge required to erect a System Scaffold structure and the safety regulations
