Alberta Basic Security Training
METI’s Alberta Basic Security Training – ABST will prepare you to become proficient in the skills required of a security professional. ABST provides you with a Basic Security Training Certificate from the Government of Alberta and prepares you to write the provincial licensing exam.
Effective June 1, 2011, all applicants for a security workers license in Alberta must successfully complete a mandatory training course or provide proof of equivalent training in order to qualify for a license. This training applies to the following license classes:
- Security Service Workers
- Executive Protection Workers
- Loss Prevention Workers
- Patrol Dog Handlers
- Security Alarm Responders
Many work sites in Alberta, whether within processing, manufacturing, construction or oil and gas, require trained, certified and skilled security professionals.
