Applying as an International Student

Applying to our Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program as an International Student requires submission of the following:

  • Confirmation of High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Government-issued photo identification (passport is acceptable)
  • Completed Application Form
  • Updated resume

Tuition and Fees

  • Program Tuition$11,500 CAD
  • Non-Refundable International Application Fee$500 CAD

Applying for a Canadian Study Permit

Whether you are currently in Canada or you want to come to Canada to take our Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program, you will need to apply to the Government of Canada Immigration and Citizenship for a Study Permit.

1. Letter of Acceptance

First, ensure you have a letter of acceptance from METI. This essential document confirms your enrollment in our program and must be uploaded with your online study permit application.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed application form
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Official transcript and résumé
  • Connect with our admissions team to learn more and see if our program is right for you

2. Provincial or Territorial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL)

You may need a provincial or territorial attestation letter (PAL/TAL) relevant to the province where our college is located.  Our admissions team will guide you through obtaining this document if it’s required for your application.

3. Proof of Identity

All applicants must provide proof of identity, typically including:

  • valid passport or travel document (a copy of the information page is required)
  • Two recent passport-sized photos for yourself and any family members accompanying you

Ensure each photo has the name and date of birth written on the back, adhering to Canadian visa photo specifications.

4. Proof of Financial Support

You must demonstrate the ability to financially support yourself and any family members while studying with us. This includes covering:

  • Tuition and fees for at least your first year at METI
  • Living expenses for at least one year
  • Proof of care (for minor children in Canada)
  • Return transportation for yourself and any family members

Acceptable proof includes bank statements, proof of scholarships, tuition and housing fee receipts, or sponsorship documents.

5. Other Supporting Documents (If Required)

Depending on your circumstances and country of residence, you may need additional items such as:

  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo)
  • Medical examination results
  • Civil status documents (e.g., marriage certificate)
  • Education transcripts or certificates
  • Employment letters or proof of work experience
  • Any additional forms requested by the visa office

We highly recommend reviewing the official IRCC document checklist (IMM 5483) and any specific instructions related to your country to ensure you submit a complete application.
